All artwork is created from gourds grown on
White Oak Farm using a wide variety of techniques and media. Designs
are wood burned into the gourds which are then colored with leather paints, dyes, India ink, Gilders paste, Jacquard Pinata Inks, Lumiere
and Neopaque paints among others. Feathers, horse hair, glass,
yarns and other natural materials are used to enhance the
effect and finish the artwork.

All this is done in Ann's shop here on beautiful Edisto Island, SC.

Just Completed

This bowl features gold leaf and a classic pattern.

Ann didn't give me a name for this bowl so I
call it burnished gold. The gold leaf actually
aged before our eyes to give it an antique
texture I like. It particularly compliments
the green she selected.

Donated to the Edisto Island Historic
Preservation Society for a fund raising auction,
this locally inspired gourd mask combines
many natural elements.

Using metal leaf Ann has captured the
flow of falling leaves. Purchased by a
private collector.

This oriental motif featuress a dogwood bloom.

Here the natural shape of the bowl,
the single dogwood bloom, and
an abstract shape taken from an
oriental lantern blend beautifully.
